Do you fear being lost? Do you fear that the grip you have on God is weak and failing? Do you worry that the temptations of the world, the multitude of things it throws at you will separate you from the Father? Do you fear that traumatic experiences and emotional distress in this life can make you fall from the Father? That your brokenness will only widen the expanse between you and God?
“My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish. No one can snatch them away from me, for my Father has given them to me, and he is more powerful than anyone else. No one can snatch them from the Father’s hand. The Father and I are one.” John 10:27-30
Take heart! These words of Jesus are speaking to the very heart of fear.
No one can snatch you from the Father’s hand!
No one.
The Father is more powerful than anyone else. He is bigger than your problem, bigger than your drug addiction, bigger than you circumstance, bigger than your sin and your fear. He is above all of our worries, distress and pain. He is in control, He is MORE powerful. He has a good hold on YOU. So whatever situation or emotional state you find yourself in right now, claim that promise that the Father is more powerful than any other force. Claim the promise that God has a good hold on you and He is not letting go. Our God is large and in charge, and longs to work with us and for us.
“And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:38-39
Lord, take control of our lives, never let us go. Thank you for your promise that you are more powerful than anything else. Lord I claim this promise for ME. We claim that you won’t let anyone or anything snatch us from your hand. We claim the promise that Jesus can forgive, that he died and rose again and is coming back one day. We ask for forgiveness, that you would take away all guilt and help us see ourselves and you see us. We ask for a new beginning and a soaking of your Holy Spirit. We pray that through your Spirit and reading the Bible we will recognise your voice of encouragement and leading more and more. We claim the encouragement, peace and blessing that comes from your Word. Work in our life, give us peace, take control and heal our pain. AMEN
